What it does, simply.
Somfy's Zigbee smart plug works with the TaHoma switch. Plugged into a wall outlet, it remotely turns a lamp or small appliance on and off, up to 1,800 W, and includes it in the shades' schedules and scenes.
It also acts as a Zigbee router: it relays the signal and extends the network's range. Somfy recommends one for every six wireless motors.

Before you buy, good to know…
- A TaHoma switch is required. The plug does not work on its own; Ysia 1 and 5 remotes can also operate it.
- Indoor use only (IP 20), between 0 and 40 °C.
- Maximum load: 1,800 W (15 A).
- Battery motors do not relay the Zigbee signal; always-powered devices, like this plug or wired motors, do.

Do Zigbee shades need a smart plug?
Somfy recommends one for every six wireless, battery-powered motors, because it relays the Zigbee signal. Always-powered Zigbee motors already relay the signal.
Can it control a lamp?
Yes: a lamp or small appliance plugged into it, up to 1,800 W, through the TaHoma app, an Ysia or voice control, and in the same scenes as the shades.
Does it work without TaHoma?
No. Somfy lists the TaHoma switch as a required device.
Can it be used outdoors?
No. It is designed for indoor use (IP 20), between 0 and 40 °C.
Do you install in Montreal, Sherbrooke and the Eastern Townships?
